Upon entering our office our receptionist will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family. We will request that you fill out new patient forms. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.
History of Your Complaint
A detailed history is necessary to treat your condtion. How did the pain begin? Have you had other treatment or diagnostic tests? How long have you been experiencing these symptoms? All these issue will be addressed prior to treatment.
Examination
After your history is completed, the doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurologic, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations.
X-Ray Studies
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to to get a full evaluation of a patient. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. In some cases, more advanced testing maybe necessary.
Report of Findings
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, the doctor will explain the course of treatment and expectations for recovery. You are encouraged to ask questions.
Treatment
Patients will generally be provided with their first treatment at the conclusion of the appointment. The treatment would normnally include spinal manipulation, Active Release Techniques and physical therapy modalities. Treatment is interactive with you so you can express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment you will be most comfortable with.
Response to Care
We expect to see conistent progressive improvement in just a few treatments in most cases. If satisfactory improvment is not seen, referrals/consultations to appropriate physicians are made so other treatment options can be explored
